Birchbox May 2016
It's that time of the month again where I share with you what I received in this months Birchbox. I love that this month there was a chance for subscribers to win a holiday! I didn't win a holiday but I loved the theme of this months box which was "For The Dreamers". I wasn't that excited about most products this month apart from the Spectrum Collections Unicorn Tears Wonder Sponge, I'm excited to try it out.

This month's box you had to scratch off the silver layer on top to see if you were in for a chance to win a holiday, unfortunately, I didn't win one but I did enjoy scratching off all the silver to reveal a colourful box with lots of patterns and shapes although it took ages!

Birchbox May 2016

First thing in the box is the Spectrum Unicorn Tears Wonder Sponge (Full Size) | RRP £4.99
I've only ever used one other sponge to blend in makeup before and that's the Real Techniques Miricle Complexion Sponge so I was excited when I knew I was getting this in this months box, I haven't got round to using it yet but it feels really soft but firm and bouncy! Prior to receiving this box, Birchbox sent out an email so you had a chance to choose which colour sponge you got in the box, I chose pink although it was a hard decision as the other choice was a light purple.

Next, we have theBalm Cosmetics Stainiac Beauty Queen (Sample) | RRP £10
I've never used a cheek/lip tint before and I've never really looked into buying one before either. I think this would be a great thing to use for a no makeup, makeup look or in the summer when it's too hot to even sit still for half an hour to do your makeup because you end up getting too hot and frustrated but I'll still give it a go!

The third thing inside my Birchbox is a Hydro Nutritive Repairing Shampoo & Conditioner (Sample Size) | RRP from £11.50
I love hair care products recently as I'm trying to improve on the attention I give my hair, I'm so into makeup and skincare I sometimes forget that my hair needs some love too. I'm not one to experiment much with shampoos and conditioners I normally pick up one to solve the issues my hair is having at the time so if my hair is feeling quite thin I'll buy a thickening shampoo that smells nice and that's that so I really do need to start experimenting and find out what works for my hair type. I'm going to try this these out and hope they repair my hair like it says it does! My hair does need a little TLC.

Next up is Vasanti Brighten Up! Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator (Sample Size ) | RRP £26.00
I don't think you could present me with a skincare product that says will smooth and brighten my skin that I will say no to, I have so much trouble with my skin. I feel like I constantly clean it (don't worry I only clean it twice a day) but it doesn't improve and when it does it doesn't last long, I'm always on the lookout for something that will make my constant skin problems vanish, I'm not saying I have really bad spots I'm quite lucky to only get the odd few but once a spot comes and goes another comes to replace it, it's a constant battle. I can't wait to see if this brightens and smooths my complexion, and if you have any skincare recommendations please leave them in the comments!

Lastly, we have Puriskin Resurfacing Formula (Sample Size) | RRP £13.99
I haven't used a body or face balm before - how can I even call myself a beauty blogger? but this balm is packed with cooling cucumber to calm red and irritated skin. Although I haven't used it yet so I can't say if it does or not but I will definitely give it a go.

Birchbox May 2016

A little extra was in this months box which was Vita Coco Coconut Oil (Sample) | RRP £9.99
This is a versatile Coconut Oil and I love using oils and this seems perfect to solve any beauty dilemmas. You can use this for dry skin, to remove makeup, as a moisturiser or to apply to dry strands of hair! It seems too good to me, I might have to buy the full size of this!

This month's box was okay but I'm starting to question whether I want to carry on buying it as I haven't always been happy with the boxes I've received and that money could go to a product I know I will actually like, but I'm not too sure yet. I will keep you updated on that one!

  1. Ive fallen so out of love with beauty boxes these past few months, but thankfully I subscribed again this month cause they have really upped their game! Maybe have a little shop around for a different box? My fave is You Beauty! x

    1. Me too, sometimes I feel I could buy something that is actually worth my money instead of buying a box of disappointment! But I know if I was to un-subscribe there would be something really good in the next box! I will have a look into You Beauty - I have heard good things about that x

    1. There are so many different ones to choose from and you can also find un-beauty related one too like stationary or jewellery!

  3. I really want to try a subscription box but I think I would rather try a lifestyle one as they just seem better quality! x
